Coordination with industry and other renewable energy & energy efficiency initiatives

Talks have taken place to coordinate with or include Egypt renewable energy & Egypt energy efficiency activities in Egypt industry with authorities and private sector organizations. The EGYPT-GERMAN bilateral cooperation project (Ministry of Trade & Industry and GTZ) for support to small and medium industry (SME) is developing a component to promote Egypt renewable energy & Egypt energy efficiency in selected industry sectors. JCEE members and the Secretariat coordinated with and contribute to other Egyptian- German or MENA- German Initiatives on Egypt renewable energy & Egypt energy efficiency, in the areas of research and development, capacity building & business cooperation.

Examples from countries in similar climate zones show that economical building and energy technologies are available to drastically reduce the electricity loads without curtailing on comfort in working place or home. Egypt lags far behind in the use of Egypt renewable energy & Egypt energy efficiency technologies (such as: solar water heating) after other Mediterranean countries. This makes the building sector in Egypt another priority area of Egypt renewable energy & Egypt energy efficiency.
