EEAA Reports Violations from Ceramica Cleopatra   12/4/2010
The Ministry of State for Environmental Protection discovered an amount of serious environmental violations in the plants of Ceramica Cleopatra Group in Suez. This was during an unexpected check visit to the plant conducted by the ministriy's supervision department yesterday. The department made a violation report for the responsibles and obliged the company to remove the violations through a program to adjust its environmental conditions according to the ministry's standards. Eng. Maged George, Minister of State for Environmental Protection, stated that the inspection conducted by the supervision authorities through sample measurements showed that the environmental condition data base for the plant is not complete, the incomplete data is concerning the periodical measurements, solid wastes contracts and management, the secure removal of dangerous wastes and the violation of secured outfit standards for the workers. The minister stated that the general dust amount emitted by the plant is also violating the ministries standards according to the environment Law no. 4/1994 and law 9/2009.
